Membership

1. Waiting list for playing members

In view of the large number of requests for membership the Committee is obliged to limit the number of new playing members and initially place all new applicants on the waiting list.

Each year the Balloting Committee will accept a certain number of new members chosen from the waiting list to replace those members who have left the club. The total adult playing membership should stabilise at about 950 members of all categories. A certain priority may be accorded to junior members whose number may be allowed to increase.

2. Playing and non-playing members

Each candidate for membership, either playing or non-playing, must complete an application form which must be counter-signed by two sponsors both of whom must have been playing members of the club for at least five years.

Members of the Board may not sponsor applications.

The Balloting Committee which comprises three members chosen from the Board members will make a decision to accept or refuse the application. This decision does not necessarily have to be explained or justified and is not open to appeal. A General Meeting of the club may take a decision to exclude any member for a serious offence after having heard the member's explanation.

The sponsors of a new member are invited to introduce the person to the club to help them integrate into club life.

New playing members shall pay an entrance fee of Euro 4800 to be paid in one or two instalments.

Playing members who have not yet reached the age of 21 are entitled to special conditions, and are not required to pay the basic entry fee until their 21st birthday.

All playing members shall pay from the first year of membership the annual membership fee corresponding to their category within 15 days of receiving the invoice.

There is no reduction for country or weekday members.

Except when membership starts after the 1st September when a proportionally reduced fee will be charged for the year, all annual membership fees must be paid in their entirety.

No reimbursement of membership fees will be made to the playing member who leaves the club during the year, unless the Committee decides otherwise.

Playing members are required to pay certain other fees such as third party insurance, contribution to the sporting fund, annual fee to the Golf Federation and the Hole-in-One Pool.

Our playing members are covered by the club for third party insurance and for any accident arising from playing golf. They are also covered by the insurance policy of the Ministry for Physical Education and Sports for third party liability and accident relating to the Luxembourg Golf Federation.

Lockers in the changing rooms may be available against payment of a small annual fee.

Non-playing members may be accepted under the same conditions as playing members. This means that they must be sponsored by two playing members with at least five year's membership and accepted by the Balloting Committee.

Non-playing members will pay an annual fee which is less than that for playing members. They will be exempt from the entry fee and be able to use the facilities of the club. They are entitled only to take lessons, to use the driving range and to free use of the putting green.
